Hello! I am a CPM and live in the Bloomington IN area. We do births in a 2-3 hour radius of the Bloomington/Indianapolis area. I work with a broad and diverse group of clients, including Old Order Amish, students and professors, and people of many different ethnicities and cultures. I support and practice the Midwifery Model of Care, and use Informed Consent with my clients. I incorporate evidence-based midwifery in my practice protocols. My motto is that I care for you, as you learn to care for yourself. Clients make all the decisions about their care, and their births, with my guidance. I believe that childbirth can be the most important event in a woman's life, and am honored to help families welcome their little ones. I believe that birth is a natural normal process and should be honored.
I have practiced in a variety of settings. I am experienced in water labor and water birth and rent out an aqua-doula tub and a Birth-Pool-in a Box. I love to work with VBAC clients and I am a VBAC mom myself. I am trained in Neonatal Resuscitation and carry resuscitation equipment.
My assistants are trained as doulas and are available to you during labor without additional charge.
We work to provide you with competent experienced, skilled care, while following your lead, wishes and desires.
I have been practicing for over twenty-one years and have served over 1650 families. I am a traditionally trained homebirth midwife and I became a Certified Professional Midwife in 1997.
Email me to set up a consultation time and we can discuss your concerns and questions and I can tell you about my practice.

I am hoping to find a midwife that is willing to try a VBAC. I am from a small town and very limited surrounding areas are even willing to mess with me. I am strongly against having another c-section. If you can help me avoid a c-section, please let me know. I would like to discuss my options if at all possible! Thanks for your time in advance!

I am really wanting a VBAC this time, I'm due in June (June 9th, 2010). I have had 3 previous c-sections. I am from a LIL town of Albion Illinois. I have my hubby's military insurance, tricare standard, since I can't move to GA with him. He gets deployed next month. I just really don't want another c-section. But the doctors I have talked to are telling me that I will have to have another c-section, cuz its safer than VBA3C. What do you think? Can you help me?

your web site was very helpful, my husband and I are currently trying to get pregnant with our first child and are thinking about using a midwife instead of going to the hospital. my neighboor has suggested using a midwife because she used a midwife for all three of her children (the newest arriving in Jan.) the info. on your website will help use to decide or atleast help my husband become more reassured about using a midwife.

Thank you for providing such an informative site! I'm the mother of two children born in the hospital, where there was repeated unnecessary intervention into their births. Now, planning the conception of my third and final child I'm hungry for information on home birth. I feel in my heart my hospital births were more harmful than helpful to my babies and me.
Keep up the good work!
